One-to-one wing foil coaching at the Almanarre, Hyères – one of the windiest spots of the French Riviera, between Toulon and Saint-Tropez. Lessons in English with Nico, a qualified sailing instructor (DEUST voile) who grew up in New Caledonia and has been on the water since the age of six.
Your instructor, your pace
- Beginners: start from the beach, alone or with one friend, never in a group. Beginner gear provided (a centreboard board for the first runs, then a stable board with a beginner foil, 3.1 / 3.6 / 5 m² wings).
- Riders: I ride with you, or coach you by radio from the beach, on the best spot of the day – jibes, tacks, speed, pumping, downwinders.
- The right spot at the right time: the Almanarre first, or the best nearby spot depending on the forecast I follow live on wind.nicowing.com.
- No wind, no charge: we reschedule, or switch to a dock start session.

How much is a private wing foil lesson?
A 2-hour session is €180 for a beginner discovery (beginner gear included, €280 for two) or €200 for private coaching. A half-day coach & guide session (3.5 to 4 hours) is €350 for one or two people. A 3-session pack is €540.
I have never done wing foiling. Can I still book?
Yes. Complete beginners start from the beach, one-to-one or with one friend, never in a group. I provide the beginner gear: a centreboard board for the first runs, then a stable board with a beginner foil, wings of 3.1, 3.6 and 5 m².
I already ride. What do you bring?
I ride with you when your level allows, otherwise I coach you by radio from the beach, on the best spot of the day. We work on jibes, tacks, speed, pumping, or go for a guided downwinder.
Where do the lessons take place?
At the Almanarre (Hyères) first, and anywhere on the Giens peninsula (Le Mérou kite zone by Hyères airport, La Bergerie), at Le Pradet (La Garonne) and in Toulon at no extra cost. Other spots: small travel supplement; Porquerolles on request. Also available in Gruissan and La Grande-Motte with partner sailing centres. The exact spot is confirmed the day before on WhatsApp, according to the forecast.
What if there is no wind?
No charge: we move the session to another day, or switch to a dock start session if you like. I confirm the day before using the forecast (wind.nicowing.com).
Do you organise downwinders?
Yes, for confident riders: Toulon → Almanarre, Le Pradet → Almanarre or Almanarre → Toulon, with car shuttle. €150 per person, from 2 people.
Do you teach in English?
Yes, lessons are given in English or French.
Can I rent equipment?
Dock start (pump foil) gear: €50 per day (1-hour introduction €60). Wing gear can be arranged with a local shop on request.
How far in advance should I book?
Ideally 48 hours ahead: send your dates, level and number of people on WhatsApp and you get a quick reply.
